ABOUT ME

Largo is large-bodied, dark chestnut stallion with an attractive, athletic look. At two years of age, he charmed the jury at the free jump for two-year olds in Heusden. He actually won the competition. The jury commented on Largo as follows:

‘It was mainly his scope, bascule and gallop that convinced us of his class, but he also obtained the highest score in his category for his technique and action.’

Dam Inka (by Kashmir van ’t Schuttershof) was served by Kannan. This combination resulted in the birth of the colt Largo in 2011. Inka was sold at six years of age to Haras des Îles du Vent, in France, with the prospect of a great future.

Kannan can also look back on a successful career in top sport. With Michel Hecart, he won the French title in 2005 and in the same year took part in the European Championships in San Patrignano. Kannan also won the Grand Prix at Deauville, came 2nd in the Grand Prix of Gijon, La Courneuve and Vichy and was part of the French team that won the Nations Cup competitions in Lisbon and La Baule.

As sire, Kannan is one of the best jumper producers in the world. He came 2nd in the 2013 WBFSH rankings for best sire which makes him the highest placed KWPN-bred stallion. Kannan achieved this result thanks to his large number of offspring that excel in international show jumping, which include the Olympic champion and world cup winner Nino des Buissonnets. Other international show jumping progeny include Baldo DS, Bridget, Quintera, Sybalia, Kisme, Bridgit, A Big Boy, Babbe van ’t Roosakker, Kiwi du Gibet, Oh d’Eole, Quartz van de Nieuwmolen, Quannan, etc.

Largo’s grand dam is Marshmallow (by Wiensender). She was crossed with Kashmir van ’t Schuttershof. This combination produced the filly Inka who is Largo’s dam. About Marshmallow we can say that she performed splendidly in jumping at national 1.40m level under Bart Soetaers. Marshmallow has brought many international show jumpers into the world. These include Vigaro (by Darco), Petronella van de Fruitkorf (by Darco), Cicero II (by Darco) and Falco (by Heartbreaker). Vigaro and Falco are both approved breeding stallions who have jumped together with Petronella van de Fruitkorf and Cicero II in international 1.50m and 1.60m competitions.

In Largo’s lineage we also find Kashmir van ’t Schuttershof. Kashmir already performed extremely well at very young age and achieved outstanding results in the national circuit and has continued this success ever since in international show jumping.
